Radical Youth, everybody talks about it but we never talk?

The issue is thorny and sensitive than, those in which the rhetorical exercise is often matched only by the inaction of our leaders and government have perpetuated over the years. Many seem to find out just now and all of a sudden the urgency, if not an emergency, to address the structural problems suddenly that affect our country for at least twenty years and the younger generation that invest directly. Unfortunately, as is increasingly the case, discussions are free from any concrete proposal and any self-criticism, which is unusual as an opportunity to speak a new language, and breaking free. In the Italy of coorporazioni and caste, few recall that some time social elevator is blocked, even the natural and physiological, and that the forecast for tomorrow draw Italy as a country old and in decline, no soul and offer a strategy. A report issued not long ago, reports - without finding out for more hot water - like 70% of children who have the best results come from wealthy families. 44% of architects is the son of architects. 42% of lawyers and notaries is the son of lawyers and notaries. 60% of pharmacists is the son of pharmacists. I wonder then where is the responsible and what happened to the discussion, which we Socialists first walked in previous years, on equality and opportunity, claiming to this choice of perspective and a strategic option that contains within it the need for policies inclusion and subsidiarity without leveling the bottom of our society. The student protests on the reform of universities have opened an important reflection of the face - so much so that, perhaps, without them we would not be here to discuss - But do not introduce new issues and substantial, but not without bringing forward a set of stereotypes and cultural legacies sessantottino, good for the protest, and certainly not to affect "rule change". A good example, beyond the proclamations youth, is certainly not the world of politics. The political and institutional system and the electoral mechanisms are blocking the natural turnover in the central and peripheral, supporting the stay to the bitter end of that ruling class. To have a prime example, do not need to go far, just look at our house, always in the most incredible Calabria, where the very recent approval by the Regional Council of indecent rule on the incompatibility closes each speech, on merit, participation, democracy and spare regard to resources for growth and new employment opportunities, politics, rather than tinker, you may easily find, if only internally did not override those instincts self-preservation, together with the defense of privilege consolidated less tolerant. There is, and not now a problem of resources for University and Research of a structural nature, especially if a significant gap compared to our European partners, which can not be bridged in a few financial maneuver, especially in times of crisis and narrow. Lack the resources? It is not rhetorical to say. But why, not to draw hoards of multiple electoral reimbursements and abnormal, with those of the various parliamentary groups and board? Why not proceed to the removal of unnecessary entities at various levels, to clean up the undergrowth of government, abolition of the Provinces, the reorganization of small towns and cut operating costs of the palaces of power? In this way, structural and radical cuts to current spending, can recover millions of euro to be invested in favor of policies for inclusion and the livelihood of young people by giving also a good example. You can not ask for sacrifices and narrow belt - even if the timing and contingencies require relentlessly - to anyone whether young people, pensioners, workers, businesses and professionals, if you do not have the credentials to do so. It would be too high a risk that the country not only approves, but does not understand. Increasingly rare event!
What may change in the immediate interest of the younger generation is certainly the basic approach, the modus operandi, which requires a program with wide-ranging structural reforms, especially in security matters and work, able to reshape total and made a new welfare model. In all honesty, I do not think that this class governments can do it if not encouraged, urged and coerced. The task is purely the prerogative of the new generations. The social and political battles, as history shows, have often been useful not only for claims, but accounted for fertile ground for training and selection of the ruling classes. We young people, so we have a formidable weapon: the politics. The invitation that you can not do is to appeal against this formidable instrument of democratic struggle, confrontation, of change. E 'discredited weapon, maybe even old-fashioned, but if handled wisely is the most disruptive and most productive.
